I am currently using vision 5. While trying to output a report to excel, an error message comes up saying that Microsoft Excel for windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. The Vision Worksheet does not get outputted to Excel. This occurs on the machine for a few users and when they try the same procedure on a different PC, it works just fine.
Hope someone is able to get a solution soon.
Thanks

Hello,
> At the moment all the usual XL menu functions record correctly but nothing gets recorded when the Vision XL menu items are used.
Do you mean, all the usual *Excel* menu functions record, but not Vision XL menu items?
Are you using Excel's macro recorder? If so, there's the problem. Excel is unaware of Vision XL's functionality because it is a separate add-in. The Excel macro recorder will only record Excel functions.
You will need to use Vision XL's Macro Builder to record XL functions. In Vision 5 I think it is in the Utilities sub menu (it is in Vision 6).
Cheers,
Alex Eclipse

Hi there,
We currently use Vision 5 running off of SUN Systems version 4. I'm trying to record a macro in Vision that incorporates functions in the Vision XL menu item. I.e. I would like to develop a spreadsheet that people unfamiliar with Vision could easily use as the macro would automatically go through the 'Data Fill' and Setup file selections.
At the moment all the usual XL menu functions record correctly but nothing gets recorded when the Vision XL menu items are used.
Has anybody come across this before and is there any easy solution?
Thanks in advance,
Neil G.

Hello, Typically one would perform Cube Analysis on a Summary Link (total of Summary Report). > How can I send screen shots to you to check you will need to contact Support so they can record and track the issue. Their e-mail address is: support@systemsunion.com. Before you do that just a few things to consider: - Is Excel installed on the PC? What is your operating system & Microsoft Office version?
- Are there any error messages displayed during the export process?
- After running Output to Microsoft Office is an Excel workbook created? It should contain a 'Cube Analysis' worksheet.
- In the Excel Cube Analysis worksheet, if you see '####' that's because the columns need to be resized.
- Cube Analysis feature does not operate in Excel. Output to Microsoft creates a snap shot of results. It is not possible to alter dimensions.
Cheers, Alex

Hello,
you wish to export your Cube results to an Excel worksheet? This should be possible:
1. Extract the Primary worksheet. 2. Perform cube analysis. 3. On the Output menu, click Microsoft Office. 4. Click '+' and type in an Excel workbook name. 5. Click Save. 6. In the bottom pane ensure the Cube sheet tick box is selected. 7. Click OK button.
In Alert, although you can set the margin size, orientation and 'fit to page' using a Print Profile, the paper size remains A4.
Regards,
Alex

The latest Vision for Navision version 04.001 (Release Date June 2006) supports Navision version 4.0 SP1. Please suggest if there any plans for Navision version 4.0 with SP3.
